Brands Hatch was a weekend of highs and lows, but ultimately ended with us back on the top step of the podium.

Qualifying was a solid start to the weekend, with a decent performance putting us 4th on the grid for Race 1. It gave us a good position to fight from, but unfortunately, the opening race didn’t go to plan. Early on, I had an off into the gravel at the exit of Turn 1, causing significant damage to the front end of the car. Despite the damage, I managed to keep the car going and battle through to the chequered flag, eventually finishing in 10th place.

Race 2 was another challenging one. The car didn’t feel quite right throughout the race, making it difficult to find the pace I wanted. Nevertheless, I kept pushing and managed to bring the car home in 7th place, giving us something to build on heading into the final race of the weekend.

Thankfully, the reverse-grid format put us in the best possible position for Race 3, starting from pole position. This time, everything came together. I got my head down, built a gap and stormed up the road to take the chequered flag and claim victory.

After a difficult start to the weekend, finishing it on the top step of the podium was an incredible feeling. It was a great way to bounce back from the challenges of the first two races and another reminder of the pace and potential we have. A weekend of perseverance, plenty of lessons and, most importantly, another race win to add to the season.

17th/18th July

Donington Park proved to be one of the strongest weekends of the season, with the pace we had shown throughout the year finally translating into the results we knew were possible.

The weekend got off to the perfect start on Friday, where we topped the timesheets during testing and built plenty of confidence heading into qualifying. That pace continued into Saturday, with a strong qualifying performance securing pole position and putting us in the best possible position for Race 1.

Race 1 didn’t begin as planned, with a poor getaway from the front row costing a couple positions off the line. Rather than letting the setback define the race, I focused on working my way back through the field. After a series of hard fought overtakes and consistent pace throughout, I fought my way back into the lead and crossed the line to take victory. It was a hugely satisfying win after recovering from a difficult start.

Sunday’s race presented another challenge. Starting from the front once again, I initially dropped back in the opening stages before settling into a rhythm and beginning another charge through the field. I battled my way back to the front and led several laps, with the race developing into an intense fight for the podium. After some close, door-to-door racing, I finished in 3rd place, adding another trophy to what had already been an outstanding weekend.

Overall, Donington Park was a weekend full of silverware and an important turning point in the championship. The combination of pole position, a race win, another podium, and consistently strong pace has significantly closed the gap in the standings. With momentum firmly on our side, we’re now knocking on the door of the championship’s top three and looking to carry this form into the remaining rounds of the season.

11th July

A return to Oulton Park in the Fiesta ST150 promised plenty after an encouraging start to the weekend. Friday testing went extremely well, with strong pace throughout the day, leaving me feeling confident heading into qualifying and the races.

Unfortunately, qualifying didn’t go to plan. An early mistake meant I was unable to set a representative lap time, leaving me at the back of the grid for Race 1. It was a frustrating setback, but one that simply meant there was plenty of work to do once the lights went out.

Race 1 turned into one of the highlights of the weekend. Starting from the back row, I was able to carve my way through the field with a series of clean, hard-fought overtakes. The car felt strong, and by the chequered flag I had climbed all the way to 6th place, a satisfying recovery drive that demonstrated the pace we knew we had.

Starting Race 2 from 6th on the grid, I was once again able to make good progress, battling my way into 4th position. However, throughout the race the car didn’t feel quite right, lacking the pace it had shown earlier in the weekend. Then, on the final lap, disaster struck as the car developed a terminal issue. I managed to nurse it back to the finish, crossing the line in 11th place before it finally gave up completely just after taking the chequered flag.

While the final results weren’t what we had hoped for, there were still positives to take away from the weekend. The pace shown in testing and the recovery drive from the back of the grid in Race 1 highlighted the potential of both me and the car. Unfortunately, a difficult qualifying session and mechanical failure prevented us from converting that pace into the results we were capable of. We’ll regroup, resolve the issues, and come back stronger.

13th/14th June

Round 3 at Anglesey marked a significant turning point in the Fiesta ST240 season, delivering the strongest weekend of the campaign so far and showing the pace we knew we had from the very beginning.

The weekend started positively in qualifying, where I secured 4th place on the grid. However, the session wasn’t without drama, as a gearbox failure struck during qualifying and threatened to derail the weekend before the racing had even begun. Thanks to a huge effort from the team, the car was repaired and ready to take to the grid.

Race 1 saw a determined drive through a highly competitive field. Despite the earlier mechanical issues, the car felt strong and I was able to battle my way to a hard earned 3rd place finish, securing the first podium of the weekend and providing a welcome confidence boost.

Starting Race 2 from 3rd on the grid, the objective was clear: make progress early and put ourselves in contention for the win. A strong start and decisive moves in the opening laps allowed me to move into the lead quickly. Once out front, I was able to manage the race and bring the car home in 1st place, securing a fantastic victory and our first win of the ST240 season.

The reverse grid format for Race 3 meant starting from 10th position, leaving plenty of work to do. Once again, the pace was there, and after another action packed race through the field, I climbed six positions to finish 4th. While just missing out on another podium, it capped off a strong recovery drive and completed an excellent weekend.

Overall, Anglesey was exactly the result we needed. After a challenging start to the season, the weekend delivered a podium, a race victory, and another top five finish, despite overcoming a gearbox failure early on. Most importantly, it demonstrated the pace and potential of the package and provides real momentum heading into the next round. The goal now is to build on this performance and continue fighting at the sharp end of the grid for the remainder of the season.

6th/7th June

A return to Donington Park for a guest appearance in the Fiesta ST150 proved to be exactly the boost we needed. Having raced the car last season, it was great to be back behind the wheel and competing in familiar machinery.

Qualifying provided a solid platform for the weekend, securing 8th place on the grid. While there was still work to do, confidence in the car was high heading into the opening race.

Race 1 was an excellent start to the weekend. After a strong launch and some hard-fought battles throughout the field, I was able to make up five positions and climb from 8th on the grid to an impressive 3rd place finish. It was a fantastic result and a great way to begin the weekend.

The momentum continued into Race 2. Building on the pace shown in the opening race, I was able to fight at the front and ultimately came away with the race win, standing on the top step of the podium. Taking victory was a brilliant reward for the hard work of everyone involved and a highlight of the weekend.

For Race 3, the reverse grid format meant starting from 7th position. Once again, the car was performing well, and after another competitive race through the field, I crossed the line in 3rd place to secure a second podium finish of the weekend.

Overall, it was an incredibly successful guest appearance. With two podiums and a race victory, the weekend was a welcome contrast to the challenges faced during the opening Fiesta ST240 rounds. The results provided a huge confidence boost and demonstrated the pace we are capable of showing. Hopefully we can carry this momentum forward into the next Fiesta ST240 round at Anglesey and continue building on these positive performances.
