No Silverware at Silverstone

16th May
Round 2 at Silverstone GP started on a very positive note, with strong pace from the outset. Qualifying went brilliantly, securing 2nd place on the grid and putting us right in the mix at the front of the field on one of the UK’s most iconic circuits.
Unfortunately, Race 1 didn’t go to plan. An early high-speed trip across the grass caused damage to the car, which significantly affected the remainder of the race. Despite doing everything possible to bring it home, the damage limited our pace and we ultimately finished down in 17th place, a frustrating result after such a promising qualifying performance.
Race 2 provided a chance to fight back. Starting from the back of the grid, the focus shifted to making progress through the field and recovering as many positions as possible. The car felt much stronger, and after a determined drive with plenty of overtaking, we crossed the line in an impressive 6th place.
However, after the race, a decision from the officials resulted in a post-race penalty that dropped us back to 9th in the final classification. While it was disappointing to lose the result after such a strong recovery drive, there were still plenty of positives to take away from the weekend.
Overall, Silverstone GP showed the pace and potential we have this season, even if the final results didn’t fully reflect it. The speed in qualifying and the fight through the field in Race 2 give us plenty of confidence heading into the next round.
Ford Escort Fun!

25th April
My guest appearance at Oulton Park International in the CNC Heads Championship marked my first outing in the Ford Escort RSR, an experience that proved both challenging and rewarding.
Qualifying was a strong start to the weekend, securing 6th place on the grid while continuing to get to grips with the car. With limited prior running in the Escort RSR, it was a solid foundation to build from heading into the races.
For both races, I opted to start from the pit lane to gain valuable experience in race conditions and focus on learning the car in traffic. This meant starting from the back, but it set the stage for two determined recovery drives.
In Race 1, I worked my way through the field, steadily building confidence with each lap and making clean, controlled overtakes. By the end of the race, I had climbed up to 7th place, a satisfying result given the starting position and circumstances.
Race 2 followed a similar pattern. Starting again from the pit lane, the focus remained on consistency, racecraft, and continuing to unlock more pace from the RSR. Another strong drive through the field saw me finish in 7th place once again, rounding off a productive weekend.
Overall, the weekend was a valuable learning experience. Getting seat time in the Escort and racing within the CNC Heads Championship provided a great opportunity to develop familiarity with the car while still delivering competitive results. Plenty of positives to take forward from this guest round.
Can’t wait to get back behind the wheel of the RSR soon.
"A championship is a marathon, not a sprint"

18th/19th April
Round 1 at Snetterton kicked off the season on a strong note, with promising pace right from the outset. Qualifying went well, securing 4th on the grid and putting us in a solid position heading into the weekend’s races.
Race 1 on Saturday delivered a competitive result. After a hard-fought race, we brought the car home in 5th, despite a trip across the grass at turn one on the opening lap. It was a positive start to the season, with good pace and consistency, and plenty to build on heading into Sunday.
However, Sunday proved to be more challenging. A mysterious power issue began to affect performance, making it difficult to match the pace from the previous day. Despite pushing to make the most of the situation, we finished race 2 in 7th and race 3 in 8th.
After the final race, the problem unfortunately became clear. While loading the car into the trailer, the engine failed completely, confirming that the power loss was experienced throughout Sunday was likely due to an underlying engine issue.
Overall, it was a weekend of mixed results. Saturday showed strong potential, while Sunday highlighted an issue that hampered our progress on the final day. However, consistent top 10 finishes and no DNF’s meant we collected some good points for the championship, there’s still a long way to go yet. We’ll take the positives from the opening weekend and focus on resolving the problem ahead of Silverstone GP.
